Martin Kaymer, the German golf player, has defended his act to be a part of the top European golfers in missing Seve Trophy t hat will take place next week. The German golfer, who holed the putt which retained Ryder Cup for Europe in Miracle at Medinah, stated that he could not find extra time in his calendar to take part in the match play competition.

This is because he did extremely well in Round 4 as he was playing with paired German partner Siem, and he aced the round. So this remains to be seen.

Martin Kaymer is a professional golfer from Germany and is a former world number one, having reached the top of the Official Golf World Rankings in 2011. He scaled the top of the rankings by finishing as the runner up in the World Golf Championship Accenture Match Play Championship but he would rule the golf world only for eight weeks before losing the top spot to English golfer Lee Westwood.

Born in Dusseldorf in Germany in 1984, Kaymer turned professional at the age of 21 years in 2005. He joined the European Tour in that same year. Till date, Kaymer has won 10 titles on the European Tour, four of which came in 2010, winning the Race to Dubai, which was formerly known as the Order of Merit. Among those wins that won Martin Kaymer the Race to Dubai title was The PGA Championship, a win that made him only the second German in history to win a Major championship after the legendary Bernhard Langer.

Kaymer also went on to win the World Golf Championship HSBC Champions in 2011, thus becoming only the tenth player in the history of golf to win a major championship as well as a World Golf Championship event. The German was the star man for the European team in the Ryder Cup of 2012, and he sank a putt in the 18^th hole on the final day of the event to help his European team retain the Ryder Cup.

The European team overturned a deficit of four points against the United States team on the final day, a performance that brought Martin Kaymer fame throughout the European golf circuit and he was hailed as one of the brightest prospects for Europe against the barrage of American golfers that tend to dominate the world of golf.

Last September in the 2012 season, what Martin Kaymer faced at the Ryder Cup before he could win it has been regarded one of the toughest and the most intense golf playing in his golf career. He was in a position where one wrong move during the putt in the hole would cost Europe the cup to United States who would then be regarded as the only contender to claim the trophy.

According to the pressure faced, Martin Kaymer took the shot and holed the putt and as a result Europe could defend the cup but overall the match was really bland. On the other hand, Tiger Woods missed a short putt and Francesco Molinari got the putt in the final singles. This is what turned the match to the European side. Taking the overall results into consideration, Europe walked away with the matches.

The German player Martin Kaymer will appear in the tournament named Honda classic due this week for the first time in his career of golf. Although he missed six cuts in the first seven events that he took part in, the events were taking place outside of mainland Europe and once he began to play in Europe, Martin Kaymer began to come into his own and his since then, has found success on the Tour.

Although he is yet to win a major title, it is only a matter of time before the German lands one of the biggest prizes in the sport and gives some competition to the runaway leader Rory McIlroy.
